AMPV

BAE Systems is developing the Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) to replace the M113 family of vehicles. In September 2023, BAE Systems won a $797m contract to move the AMPV into full-rate production, with the contract, including further options, reaching $1.6bn. In October 2023, BAE Systems unveiled the AMPV counter-UAS prototype, which was tested in January 2024.

Type 31

Programme Value: £1.25bn

The Type 31 frigate being developed for the UK will see a class of five frigates delivered to the Royal Navy, replacing five older and outgoing Type 23 general purpose platforms. Based on the Iver Huitfeldt-class warships, the design has been adapted for UK use. The steel-cutting ceremony for the second ship, HMS Active, was held in January 2023 while the ship’s keel was laid in September 2023.

LGM-35A Sentinel

The LGM-35A Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is being developed by Northrop Grumman for the US Air Force since 2014. The ICBM will replace the 400 LGM-30 Minuteman III ICBMs, The first full-scale static test fire of the Sentinel stage-one solid rocket motor was held in March 2023, followed by the stage-two solid rocket motor test in January 2024.
