Bridging the gaps
Observis is a technology company focused in developing and delivering situational awareness and monitoring systems for military and public security organisations worldwide. The key competence factor of the company is the flexibility in system delivery configurations; Observis is able to offer solutions from simple mobile area monitoring systems to complete reconnaissance vehicle networks and even up to turn-key deliveries of nationwide situational awareness systems.
Even though Observis is relatively new player in the CBRN market, the company does possess plenty of experience and knowledge in this particular field. Company’s senior staff has up to 20 years of experience in the CBRN business and some are well known to the trade and by the users.
Being a software- and integration company, Observis envisions the largest challenge for military and first responder communities in the foreseeable future being the integration and networking of devices and systems. The concept of networking of tactical assets is gradually turning into a de-facto requirement in defence and security procurement specifications. This is becoming a daunting challenge, for example in the CBRN domain, where there is a vast number or aged, but fully viable and well functioning devices in operational use. These devices typically have limited or none networking features, although most of them could and can be networked.
Additionally, in many countries the defence and security organisations are required to operate and even improve operational capability with decreasing budgets. Therefore, organisations are looking for solutions which are able to provide full networking and situational awareness features in exchange of the meagre funds available.
To solve this problem, Observis is bridging the gap between old and new, creating flexible situational-awareness software, ObSAS.
The advanced ObSAS software is fast and lightweight, with an easy-to-use mapping interface. It harnesses highly accurate battle management system technology to map terrain and detect full range of CBRN threats. All information is visualized and displayed in real time within the system network. Reports of alarms and device statuses are automatically processed and stored in to the system database. ObSAS is based on cloud architecture allowing the system to be installed in different configurations according to customer requirement.
ObSAS software platform can be integrated with virtually any third-party device or system, including tactical control centre, battle or factory management systems. ObSAS is technology agnostic i.e. in contrast to a lot of system manufacturers that provide their own hardware, Observis supplies the system, but also provides the customer with the freedom to select any technology or any platform they need. That could be for a 6×6 armoured vehicle, a light vehicle or an underground shelter. ObSAS can adapt to virtually any requirement the customer can imagine.
At the moment, the company is working on a solution allowing for even more complete overview of CBRN threats that can be fed back through a central command network. The solutions will turn basically every operative on the field to a sensor through the devices they carry. This is going to save customers a huge amount of money, because for a fraction of the cost they can create an entire network via this solution.
It’s going to be a game-changer.
