US Space Force awards $4.16bn space-based sensing deal to SpaceX

SpaceX has been awarded a $4.16bn contract by the acting United States Space Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Space Based Sensing & Targeting to advance the Space-Based Airborne Moving Target Indicator programme. The agreement, made through a competitive Other Transaction Authority, is intended to expedite the delivery of a new sensing layer that will detect and track airborne threats worldwide, according to a statement from Space Systems Command.

Ukraine and Germany sign LoI for joint defence tech development

Ukraine and Germany have agreed to launch Brave Germany; a joint initiative aimed at developing defence technologies and supporting innovative start-ups. Ukraine Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius signed a letter of intent for the initiative in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence stated. The bilateral initiative will provide grant funding to both Ukrainian and German start-ups focusing on sectors considered vital for the future of warfare.

Sweden Ballistics raises $35m to complete 4,500t Nora TNT plant

Sweden Ballistics (SWEBAL) has raised €30m ($35m) in funding to finalise the construction of its trinitrotoluene (TNT) manufacturing facility in Nora, Sweden. Investors in this round included prominent individuals and Swedish family offices, among them Major General (ret) Karl Engelbrektson, former Chief of the Swedish Army. SWEBAL stated the investment will support the plant's completion and aims to address European manufacturers’ reliance on foreign imports for energetic materials.

Parsons secures US Air Force architect-engineer contract

The US Air Force has selected Parsons for a position on a multiple award task order contract to provide architect-engineer services at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. The contract, with a ceiling value of $136m and an 8.5-year performance period, covers a range of infrastructure-related services across the installation.
