The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, has ratified agreements with the European Union on a €90bn ($104bn) Ukraine Support Loan, with €60bn set aside for defence.

The Australian Government led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, will inject an extra A$14bn ($10.15bn) into defence over the next four years, according to its 2026-27 budget. 

The European Commission has formalised Romania’s SAFE loan agreement, enabling the country to access  up to €16.68bn ($19.36bn) in EU financing for defence purposes.

Business intelligence firm GlobalData forecasts that the global market for naval surface combatants will see a compound annual growth of 5.3% in the 2026-36 timeframe.
